Kansas City PrideFest turns 50 in 2025, and the celebration is going all out!

With the theme “Bold and Gold,” this year’s Pride marks five decades of Kansas City’s LGBTQ+ advocacy, culture, and joy. The weekend-long festival returns to Theis Park from जून 6 से 8, bringing with it a full lineup of live music, family-friendly fun, local food and art, and the city’s largest and most colorful parade.

Pride Parade: The March to Theis Park

The Kansas City Pride Parade takes place on Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 AM, starting at Westport Road and Broadway Boulevard. From there, the procession marches south on Broadway, curves onto Mill Creek Parkway, then heads east along Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard before arriving at Theis Park, where the festival grounds await.

This scenic route winds past leafy park views and historic neighborhoods, and the energy along the way is infectious. It’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors to line the streets, wave flags, and cheer on community groups, drag performers, marching bands, and dazzling floats. If you want the full experience, arrive early in Westport for the pre-parade buzz and music.

Festival Weekend Schedule

The Pride festival officially opens on Friday, June 6 with an Opening Night Celebration from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Expect electrifying performances on the main stage, food trucks, vendors, and plenty of places to grab a drink and settle in for the weekend ahead.

On Saturday, June 7, the party picks up immediately after the parade with Festival Day Two from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Theis Park will be filled with music across multiple stages, interactive installations, art, wellness spaces, and booths from over 100 vendors and community groups. The lineup includes both local talent and national acts, offering everything from pop anthems and drag shows to spoken word and DJ sets.

Sunday, June 8 is Family & Community Day, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, designed for all ages. You’ll find live performances, a youth area with games and crafts, and quieter spaces to recharge and connect with local organizations. It’s a more relaxed day, perfect for reflection and connection before the weekend winds down.

Explore Theis Park: What to Expect

Theis Park transforms into a full Pride village over the weekend, with themed zones that highlight different parts of the community:

The Education Tent hosts workshops and talks that dive into queer history, identity, and empowerment.

The Game Zone is where attendees can challenge friends and show off their skills — from console gaming to fun competitions.

The Health Village brings together affirming providers, sexual health services, and community wellness organizations in a supportive environment.

The Wellness Tent, sponsored by MOCBOD, offers a calm space for breathwork, yoga, and mental wellness.

कलाकार पंक्ति, hosted by No Divide KC, showcases local visual artists, performers, and creatives with hands-on activities, spoken word, and installations.

There’s also a Youth Area designed for kids and teens to engage safely and creatively, with everything from art stations to LGBTQ+ book readings and youth-led performances.
