More famous than the hotel itself is the restaurant and the Deutsche Eiche gay sauna which is perhaps the largest gay bathhouse in Bavaria. Sofitel is a 10-minute walk from Theresienwiese - the location of Oktoberfest. The gay scene near Sendlinger Tor station is about a 15-minute walk or two train stops away.
Another branch of the popular Cocoon hotel, located on a quiet side street near the Munich central train station and the Karlsplatz shopping area.
